Wireless Embedded Systems
Winter 2001 Retreat
January 14-16, 2001

Overview

This retreat marks the start of a new project in the area of wireless embedded systems.  Its theme will be one of scouting the frontiers in this space.  The core of the project is formed by the DARPA Networked Embedded Systems Technology (NEST) grant which involves developing a wireless open experimental platform for the program and challenge applications with fine-grain distributed control.  However, the project reaches out into CITRIS, SENSIT, Smart Dust, and Endeavor efforts and is inherently interdisciplinary.  There are strong initial results, but we also want to use the retreat as a time to build the team and explore opportunities and challenges.
